TCNJ Micromouse Wins 1st Place

Micromouse 2013

TCNJ students Drew MacFarlane, Jake Eger and Matthew Dietz won first place at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 1 Micromouse Competition which was held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Advised under Dr. Orlando Hernandez, the team continued the legacy of Micromouse as their senior project. The goal of the Micromouse project is to design and build an autonomous robotic vehicle that will solve a maze. Their robot secured first place by making it the furthest in arguably the competition’s most challenging maze yet.

At the conference students had the chance to compete and apply practical engineering knowledge in the various competitions. They also had an opportunity to network and learn from other students from across Region 1. In addition student members had a great opportunity to network with the Industry Professionals and the IEEE Leaders.
