This year the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) held their 2013 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) Daniel Fisher and Klevore Burden competed in the Photonics Design Contest at the 2013 IMS and came in first place. They received a cash award of $2,000 and will have a paper on their design published in the IEEE’s Microwave Magazine. In addition Christopher Liang competed in the Balun Design Contest, and gained greatly from the experience.
TCNJ’s students were among the very few undergraduates competing. Alumnus Dr. Seth Wilk, who recently started his own company had a booth at IMS. Below is a picture of him giving some advice to TCNJ students.
