Scholarship Fund Honors Alum’s Grandmother

Raymond Geraci ’75 has established an endowed scholarship for students in electrical engineering in honor of his grandmother Rose Raymond (1900-1994). Throughout his college years, he visited her nearly every day, receiving unwavering love and support. She provided not only daily meals but also a quiet place to study, significantly aiding his educational journey. This scholarship also acknowledges the deep impact of Geraci’s mother, Josephine, and Rose’s other children—Mildred, Charles, Mary, Rose, and Clara—who all played endearing roles in his life.

Geraci attributes his educational and career successes to the College and influential professors like Dr. Allen Katz, who equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive as a Communications Engineer at RCA Corporation and its successor firms, including L3Harris Corporation.

Over his 42-year career, Raymond designed, produced, integrated, and managed communication systems for high-profile platforms like the International Space Station, AEGIS Destroyers, Coast Guard Cutters, and Virginia Class Nuclear Submarines, among others. He also spent two years at Microwave Semiconductor Corporation, developing microwave power transistor circuitry. His comprehensive education at TCNJ was instrumental in preparing him for these significant roles throughout his career.

During his graduate studies, Raymond encountered first-generation students whose financial needs reminded him of his own modest upbringing as one of six children in a small cottage on Hutchins Ave. in Hamilton, NJ. Moved by their struggles and grateful for the opportunities that TCNJ provided him, Geraci felt inspired to give back to his alma mater.  Thank you, Raymond, for your commitment to supporting the next generations of engineers!
